The Process

The Upcycling Process

The Spanish Fisherman bring back to shore plastic, which is sorted and pelletised and then upcycled into yarn for weaving into textile.

The upcycled textile is then sent toUpcycled Corporate Clothing in the United Kingdom for manufacture into products. Research informs us that with respect to plastic that can be used for textile manufacture, there should be no need to make any new plastic for the next 40 years, with an exponential benefit to climate change as the result of using our textiles.

Benefits of Upcycled Plastics

  • The production process recovers plastic from the ocean and landfill:
  • Textile can be washed at 90 degrees over 100 times before replacing.
  • Textile is waterproof, showerproof and will provide protection from liquid spillage.
  • Textile saves 34% in Water Usage
  • Textile saves 39% in Energy
  • Textile saves 36% in CO2 Emissions through our Production Process.
  • Manufactured in the U.K.

From Waste to Product

Clean-up programmes that clean all waste from the ocean including; PET, PP, PA, metal, rubber, glass and other materials.

Our estimates is that for every kilo of YARN, between 600 grams and 1 kilo of marine litter has been cleaned from our ocean.

It then gets turned into flakes, then pellets and sent to the factory in Spain. The pellets get bound into yarn then made into our clothing.

Why is the % of marine litter not higher?

This composition allows us to up-cycle as much of the waste recovered from the ocean as possible whilst offering a premium fiber which can replace virgin polyester in any application.  At higher percentages we would need to be more selective of the marine waste we use resulting in less of the recovered marine waste being upcycled and instead being sent to landfill or incineration.

How much waste is cleaned from the ocean for every kilo of yarn?

Ocean clean-up programs working with our partners clean all waste from the ocean including; PET, PP, PA, metal, rubber, glass and other materials.

Our partners estimates that for every kilo of YARN, between 600 grams and 1 kilo of marine litter has been cleaned from our oceans.

Can the YARN be recycled?

Yes, it can be recycled.

Where is the YARN produced?

The fibre is weaved and dyed in Europe and then processed for cutting and construction.
